Connecticut-based pet photographer Ty Foster has been photographing dogs and their people for more than seven years.

“I always get weird looks when I explain to people what my main subject is,” said Foster. “That's ok though, I wouldn't change it for the world.”

His shoots have taken him to large fields, farms, abandoned warehouses, and into people’s homes to capture the treasured family members in their element.

Foster’s new personal project, “Dogs Ink,” documents the relationship between dog owners and their dogs. However, the difference between this project and his regular work is that he is focusing on people with lots of tattoos.

Foster is looking for more participants for Dogs Ink, in any location.

“We are always looking for help,” he said. “If there are a bunch of people willing to help out and live in another state, then I am traveling to wherever they are! There is no
